Hostinger Review 2026: Is Their AI Site Builder Actually Worth It for Solo Founders?

Verdict: Recommended for solo founders, small businesses, and indie hackers running static sites, WordPress, or low-traffic SaaS landing pages.

What we actually tested

This matters for SEO: Google’s Core Web Vitals threshold for “good” LCP is under 2.5 seconds, and Hostinger cleared that on every test page.

The one black mark: uptime was 99.94%, not 100%. We saw 4 brief outages over 7 months, none longer than 14 minutes. SiteGround’s SLA promises 99.99% — Hostinger doesn’t promise anything formal but compensated us with a 1-month credit when we opened a ticket about a 12-minute outage.

The AI Website Builder — half real, half gimmick

Hostinger’s headline feature is AI Website Builder: type “I run a yoga studio in Brooklyn” and it generates a working site with copy, images, and a contact form in under 60 seconds.

The good:

• The generated site is genuinely functional. Headings make sense. The contact form works. It even picks stock photos that roughly match your niche.
• It produces mobile-responsive layouts by default. No Bootstrap wrestling.
• It asks 4-5 clarifying questions first (industry, vibe, color preferences) before generating.

The bad:

• The output looks generic. Like, immediately recognizable as “AI-generated small business site” generic. If you care about brand credibility, you’ll spend 2-3 hours replacing stock photos, rewriting headline copy, and adding unique elements.
• The image library is mid-tier. We saw visible Shutterstock watermarks in some templates.
• Generated SEO metadata is keyword-stuffed and reads like 2014 SEO advice. You’ll override all of it.

Honest take: Use the AI Builder as a starting skeleton, not a finished product. If you’re not willing to customize, your site will look like 10,000 other AI sites. If you are willing to spend a Saturday morning on it, you’ll have a professional-looking site for ~$30/year.

Renewal pricing — read the fine print

Here’s the part Hostinger doesn’t lead with: the renewal price roughly doubles after the first term.

• Business plan: $3.99/mo for 48 months, then $11.99/mo on renewal

Customer support — chat only, hit or miss

Hostinger dropped phone support in 2023. You can only reach them via:
